Tickets for Auckland FC’s home semi-final are selling fast, with only a few hundred remaining after the club’s 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory in the first leg of the A-League semi-finals.
The match, scheduled for Saturday, May 24 at Go Media Stadium, has sparked a surge in demand. The South Stand, where the club’s main supporters group, The Port, gathers, is now fully sold out, according to Ticketmaster.
As of 8 a.m. on Monday, May 19, only two seats were still available in the East Stand, in Bays 29 and 37. Later that morning, four additional seats were released in the West Stand.
Around 500 seats remain in the temporary stands added at the northern end of the stadium. These were installed specifically for the semi-final to increase capacity.
A full house is now expected, which could break Auckland FC’s current attendance record of 27,009—set during their derby match against Wellington Phoenix.
If Auckland FC wins and earns the right to host the grand final, organizers plan to add another 800 temporary seats to accommodate more fans.
Go Media Stadium has seen an average crowd of over 18,000 this season. By season’s end, more than 300,000 tickets will have been sold for matches at the venue.
Proceeds from semi-final ticket sales go to the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), not to the clubs.
Tickets for the semi-final also include access to public transportation to and from the stadium.
