SINGAPORE, June 10, 2025 — The NBA has announced that three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings and two-time WNBA champion Lauren Jackson from Australia will headline the first-ever NBA Rising Stars Invitational.
This regional high school basketball tournament will bring together boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 Asia-Pacific countries to compete at the Kallang Tennis Hub in Singapore from June 25 to June 29. The event is part of a multi-day basketball and entertainment festival.
Joining Sabonis and Jackson will be current Phoenix Suns players Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro, along with Keisei Tominaga from Japan’s B.LEAGUE. NBA legend Yao Ming from China will also make special appearances, including attending the opening ceremony on June 25. Throughout the week, these stars will engage with young players both on and off the court.
Fans can also enjoy live performances from the Los Angeles Lakers’ dance team, the Laker Girls, and Miami Heat’s mascot Burnie.
Organized by NBA Singapore in partnership with Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the NBA Rising Stars Invitational will feature round-robin play from June 25 to 27. The tournament will then move to single-elimination semifinals and finals on June 28 and 29. Besides competition, participating athletes will join skill development sessions, social responsibility programs, and cultural exchange activities. Top performers may earn invitations to future NBA development camps and showcases.
Teams were selected in cooperation with local basketball federations and leagues. In the Philippines, local qualifiers determined their representatives. The full list of participating teams is yet to be finalized and may change.
