The average price for tickets to the 2025 NBA Finals has fallen to $1,147, a 25% decrease from last year, according to data from ticket marketplace TickPick.
Although NBA Finals tickets have always been costly, this year’s prices are lower due to the presence of two of the league’s smaller markets: the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This has brought the average ticket price below previous lows, with $1,147 beating the $1,169 average in 2023 and $1,200 in 2021, based on TickPick’s tracking since 2019.
Last year’s Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks, two major markets, had an average ticket price of $1,560 — about 25% higher than this year’s.
Here’s a look at the average NBA Finals ticket prices since 2019, according to TickPick:
- 2019 (Raptors vs. Warriors): $1,229
- 2020 (Heat vs. Lakers): No data due to COVID-19
- 2021 (Bucks vs. Suns): $1,200
- 2022 (Celtics vs. Warriors): $1,379
- 2023 (Heat vs. Nuggets): $1,169
- 2024 (Celtics vs. Mavericks): $1,560
- 2025 (Pacers vs. Thunder): $1,147
Despite the overall lower average, ticket prices for the first four Finals games in Oklahoma City and Indianapolis are the highest ever recorded for NBA games in those cities.
Here are the details for each of those games:
Game 1 at Oklahoma City
- Average ticket price: $1,012
- Lowest ticket price (“get-in”): $525
Game 2 at Oklahoma City
- Average ticket price: $1,201
- Get-in price: $602
Game 3 at Indianapolis
- Average ticket price: $1,002
- Get-in price: $755
Game 4 at Indianapolis
- Average ticket price: $1,093
- Get-in price: $832
These prices are close to what was seen during the Eastern Conference finals at Madison Square Garden in New York. While those games were not the Finals, ticket prices in New York at times reached four times those in Indiana during the conference finals.
Tickets for potential Games 5 to 7, still listed as “if necessary,” are even more expensive. Game 5 leads the pack with an average ticket price of $1,969. This likely reflects betting odds that favor the Thunder to win the series at home in five games.
In summary, while overall NBA Finals ticket prices are down from last year, they remain very high, especially in these smaller markets where demand has pushed local prices to record levels.
