FIFA has lowered ticket prices for the opening match of the Club World Cup 2025 due to concerns over low sales and the risk of many empty seats. The game, set for June 14 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, will feature Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami facing Egypt’s Al Ahly FC.
Hard Rock Stadium, which can hold 65,326 spectators, has reportedly sold fewer than 20,000 tickets for this match, according to sources cited by The Athletic. FIFA, however, has disputed this number in an official statement. Still, officials grew worried as ticket sales lagged behind expectations in recent weeks.
The Club World Cup 2025 will showcase 32 teams from across the globe, including top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich. To encourage sales, FIFA has used a dynamic pricing strategy, adjusting ticket prices based on demand.
As of late Wednesday night, Ticketmaster listed the cheapest tickets for the Inter Miami vs. Al Ahly game at $55.75, a significant drop from the $230 price reported by The Athletic back in January. Meanwhile, ticket prices for matches featuring teams like Real Madrid have risen, now costing several hundred dollars.
The adjustment aims to fill the stadium and ensure a lively atmosphere for the tournament’s highly anticipated kickoff.
