Gor Mahia has confirmed that fans who purchased tickets for the postponed Mashemeji Derby in May will be eligible for refunds, provided the tickets remain unused.
The club urged fans to submit their refund requests quickly to verify unused tickets. This announcement was made in an official statement on Gor Mahia’s Facebook page, where the 21-time Premier League champions assured supporters that refund processing would begin next week.
The original derby, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, was postponed due to the lack of a suitable venue for the high-risk match.
Many fans who had already bought tickets were left disappointed by the postponement.
Gor Mahia also revealed details about the rescheduled 97th Mashemeji Derby. The game will now be played on Monday, June 2, at the newly renovated Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
Tickets for the match are available online through tikiti. Prices are set at Ksh3,000 for VIP seats and Ksh300 for regular admission.
For Gor Mahia, the derby is more than just a rivalry. With the league title race heating up, a victory could help close the seven-point gap between them and leaders Kenya Police. A win would strengthen their bid to win a record 22nd league title.
