Southend United fans have been given the chance to buy more tickets for Sunday’s National League play-off final against Oldham Athletic at Wembley Stadium.
The club had already sold 25,000 tickets for the crucial match, which will decide who earns promotion. However, a club statement released on Wednesday evening confirmed that extra tickets will go on sale from 7:30 pm tonight.
The statement explained that after a meeting with the National League, which concluded shortly before 5 pm, it was agreed that, after meeting contractual and sponsorship requirements, additional unrestricted seats could be made available.
“At 6 pm, the National League confirmed these extra seats could be released,” the club said. “Since then, we have been working with Wembley Stadium and our ticketing partner to upload the seats to our system.”
These extra tickets will be sold individually and can be purchased without a coach package. Fans can buy them online or at the BTMK Box Office, which will be open until 10 pm tonight and will reopen at 9 am tomorrow.
The club advised that ticket sales for this batch will end at 3 pm on Friday, May 30.
Southend United expressed gratitude to all involved for their support in securing the additional seats.
