Rhode Island FC Donates Over 600 Tickets to Local Veterans

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island FC showed appreciation for local veterans with a special visit to the VA Providence Healthcare System on Tuesday morning. The team’s mascot, Chip the Harbor Seal, joined club President David Peart to thank veterans ahead of the club’s Military Appreciation Game scheduled for Saturday, May 24.

The visit brought smiles and laughter throughout the facility, with veterans and staff enjoying Chip’s playful energy and photo opportunities, the VA said in a press release.

In a generous gesture, Rhode Island FC donated more than 600 tickets to veterans and their families for Saturday’s match at Centreville Bank Stadium. The club plans to honor veterans and active servicemembers during the game, recognizing their sacrifices for the country.
