Ticket prices for the upcoming Munster Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) final between Limerick and Cork have been announced. Stand tickets are priced at €50, terrace tickets at €40, and tickets for under-16s are €10. These prices reflect a €5 increase from last year’s final between Limerick and Clare held in Thurles.
Concessions of €5 off are available for students and senior citizens for the final, which will take place at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. The match is expected to sell out quickly, with all tickets being distributed through the county boards and season ticket holders.
This price increase follows the trend of rising ticket costs seen in the Munster championship over the past two years. In 2023, tickets for the same venue were €40 for the stand and €30 for the terrace.
Attendance at this year’s Munster round-robin games totaled 285,417 across 10 matches, nearly 15,000 more than the previous record of 270,750 set last year. The Gaelic Grounds has a capacity of just over 42,000, and Munster GAA expects a record-breaking crowd and gate receipts for the final. Last year’s total attendance for 11 matches was 315,898.
The €50 stand ticket for the hurling final is notably €20 higher than the price for a stand ticket at the recent Kerry-Clare senior football final held at Fitzgerald Stadium.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the Leinster SHC and Joe McDonagh Cup final double-header at Croke Park. The Leinster Council has launched a free ticket initiative for under-14s, offering 20,000 complimentary tickets for the upcoming Galway-Kilkenny and Kildare-Laois matches.
Under the scheme, groups of at least 10 children can attend free of charge, provided they are accompanied by a minimum of two supervising adults. Adult tickets for the stand are priced at €40, while Hill 16 tickets cost €30. Juvenile tickets are available at €8.
