Middlesbrough has announced its first pre-season friendly for the summer, confirming a trip to Rangers at Ibrox Stadium.
The match will take place on Saturday, July 26, with a 2 p.m. kickoff. Michael Carrick’s squad will travel north as part of their preparations for the upcoming season. This game is sponsored by Unibet, the main sponsor for both clubs. Alongside this friendly, Middlesbrough is also expected to hold a week-long training camp in Portugal.
Middlesbrough has been allocated over 8,000 tickets for the match against Rangers, who finished second in the Scottish Premiership last season. Rangers also reached the Europa League quarterfinals and are currently in the process of appointing a new head coach after Barry Ferguson served as interim manager from February.
Ticket prices have been set at £20 for adults, £12 for concessions (ages 16-17 and over 65), and £8 for under-16s. Details on how to purchase tickets will be announced soon on mfc.co.uk.
Additionally, as part of the agreement between the two clubs, Middlesbrough Women will face Rangers Women the following day at Rangers’ Broadwood training ground. Mick Mulhern’s team is preparing for their first season in the third tier of women’s football after earning promotion last year.
