Kelowna’s newly renovated Waterfront Park is set to host a vibrant wine and dance party this summer, and tickets are selling quickly.
The Rosé Disco will make its Kelowna debut on July 19, featuring DJ acts Felix Cartal, SkiiTour, and more, alongside plenty of wine. The event will take over Waterfront Park, with performances on the park’s new stage, expected to be finished in the coming weeks.
Tickets went on sale Tuesday morning, and organizer Mitch Carefoot reports that 60% of the roughly 4,000 tickets sold within the first 24 hours. The pre-sale tickets have now sold out, with the next tier priced at $75 set to be released soon.
New Stage at Waterfront Park
Carefoot, along with partner Kurt Jory from their event company Thick as Thieves, last hosted an event at Waterfront Park in summer 2022 with Island Time. Carefoot says they’re eager to experience the upgraded stage.
“We’re excited to get back to the new stage with more space and a better design,” he said. “It will offer a better experience with more room for standing, and there won’t be that gap of water between the artists and the crowd.”
Attendees will also have access to the beach via Tugboat Bay, allowing them to cool off in the lake during the summer event.
“Hopefully it will be a sunny day in July, perfect for people who want to enjoy the water,” Carefoot added.
“Like Island Time in 2022, people will be listening to music, relaxing in the shade, and heading back and forth to the beach. It’s really a beach day with wine and music at Waterfront Park.”
A ‘Perfect Fit’ for Kelowna
The Rosé Disco began in Vancouver in 2023, created by Feaster Events co-founders Adam Bloch and Dax Droski. For the Kelowna event, Feaster partnered with Carefoot and Jory, who are known locally for events like Denim on the Diamond and AltiTunes.
Carefoot says his connection with Feaster goes back several years, when he met Droski during Feaster’s previous Hopscotch Festival in Kelowna.
“As they expand across Canada, we thought Kelowna was the perfect place for this event,” Carefoot said. “We have great wineries and an amazing location, so teaming up with Feaster made sense.”
He added that the event offers something for both dance music lovers and wine fans.
“We’ll bring the Felix Cartal crowd, who love poppy dance music, and also the wine lovers. It’s going to be a nice mix for everyone.”
Carefoot revealed that the Vancouver organizers haven’t seen ticket sales this fast for one of their events in a decade.
“Both sides are thrilled to launch a new event in Kelowna. The combination of wine, music, and waterfront fun speaks for itself. It’s great that people are showing up and buying tickets,” he said.
