GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following a strong 2024-25 campaign that included a fourth consecutive postseason appearance, a trip to the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, and a WBIT semifinal run, the Florida Gators women’s basketball team is preparing for an exciting return to Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center for the 2025-26 season.
Led by Head Coach Kelly Rae Finley, the Gators will rely on a veteran core that includes returning standouts Liv McGill, Me’Arah O’Neal, Laila Reynolds, Alexia Dizeko, and Daviane Mindoudi Ongbakahoumb. The group is expected to anchor the team with a blend of leadership and high-level experience.
Florida has also strengthened its roster with key transfer additions: K’Nisha Godfrey from TCU, Jade Weathersby from UAB, and Sara Deng from Eastern Arizona. These newcomers are set to bring immediate impact and depth to the rotation.
The Gators’ incoming freshman class features three promising players—Emilija Dakic, Caterina Piatti, and Nyadieng “Nidi” Yiech—adding young talent to an already well-rounded squad.
