SYDNEY, Australia — Football Australia has officially confirmed that the Subway Socceroos have secured qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, marking their sixth consecutive appearance at the world’s premier football tournament. This historic edition will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and is set to be the largest in the event’s history.
With fan interest already surging, Football Australia announced early details surrounding ticket access, fan ballots, and supporter packages, while working in close collaboration with FIFA and official partners to finalize the full range of offerings.
Limited Ticket Access Through Ballot System
As part of FIFA’s global allocation policy, Football Australia will receive a limited number of tickets for Subway Socceroos matches. Currently, the allocation is expected to be 8% of the sellable stadium capacity for each match, though final confirmation is pending from FIFA.
To manage the high demand, Football Australia will use a ballot system to allocate these tickets fairly and transparently.
“With demand expected to dramatically exceed supply, the ballot ensures all fans have a fair shot at attending,” Football Australia stated.
Exclusive Ballot Eligibility for Football Account Plus Members
Only registered Football Account Plus members will be eligible to participate in the official ticket ballots. This means that standard Football Account holders who have only opted into priority communications will not be able to access the ballot process.
Each Football Account Plus member will receive one entry per match in the ballot.
Football Australia emphasized that this system is designed to provide “a fair, accessible, and transparent process across the national football community.”
Fan Packages Offer Boosted Ballot Chances
To further support fans hoping to secure tickets, Football Australia will also offer official fan packages that include multiple entries into the same ticket ballots. These packages will be available for purchase exclusively to Football Account Plus members.
Key features of the fan packages include:
Additional ballot entries based on package type
Match tickets (if successful in the ballot)
Access to supporter hubs and curated fan experiences
Exclusive merchandise inclusions
Details regarding the package tiers and ballot multipliers will be announced at the official product launch.
Overwhelming Demand Expected
More than 400,000 Football Account holders have already expressed interest in priority ticketing, highlighting the immense demand for World Cup access among Australian fans. Football Australia continues to urge fans to upgrade to Football Account Plus to avoid missing out. Further updates on ticketing timelines, ballot opening dates, and package launches will be shared in the coming months.
