KARACHI — Renowned actor and producer Humayun Saeed has opened up about the challenges faced while making his latest film, Love Guru, and promised to make cinema more affordable for fans.
At a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club, Saeed highlighted key obstacles in Pakistan’s film industry, including the limited number of cinema screens and rising ticket prices. He explained that these issues restrict films from reaching wider audiences, especially those from low-income communities.
“Making a film in Pakistan is always a risky investment,” Saeed said. “With fewer screens and high costs, it becomes difficult for both filmmakers and moviegoers.” He added that during the initial release days of Love Guru, he stayed home anxiously waiting to see how audiences would react.
But after witnessing the film’s strong box office success, Saeed felt relieved and encouraged by the public’s warm reception. “When I saw the love and support pouring in, I finally felt confident enough to come out and thank everyone,” he said with a smile.
In a generous announcement, Saeed revealed that if Love Guru continues to perform well, he will offer half-price tickets for underprivileged viewers. This move, he explained, aims to make cinema more accessible and attract more people back to theaters.
“I believe in giving back,” Saeed stated. “If Love Guru keeps winning hearts, I want those who usually can’t afford a ticket to also enjoy it.” His commitment has been warmly welcomed by fans and industry insiders alike.
