Before groups like Babymetal, Band-Maid, and Atarashii Gakko rose to fame, Scandal was already making waves in the Japanese rock scene. Formed in 2006, this four-member all-female band challenged the typical image of Japanese girl groups with their edgy sound and strong stage presence. Unlike many idols, they play their own instruments: Mami on guitar, Tomomi on bass, Rina on drums, and Haruna as the lead vocalist.
Early fans remember Scandal for their signature black-and-red schoolgirl-inspired outfits. Now in their mid-30s, the band has evolved their style with a cleaner look and more polished vocals, while maintaining the fierce energy that defined their early years.
As part of their ‘Love, Spark, Joy!’ Tour in 2025, Scandal will bring their live show to The Star Theatre in Singapore on Saturday, September 13. Tickets start at $118, with VIP packages that include meet and greet opportunities priced at $228.
