Gor Mahia has released ticketing information for their final FKF Premier League fixture of the season against newly crowned champions Kenya Police FC. The match is set for Sunday, June 22, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata.
The encounter will double as a coronation game for Police FC, who clinched their first-ever league title last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Shabana FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Brian Okoth netted the decisive goal, sealing a historic win for the law enforcers.
As the hosts, Gor Mahia has set ticket prices at Ksh500 for regular admission and Ksh3,000 for VIP access. The pricing has drawn mixed reactions, with some fans comparing it to Kenya Police’s high rates in last season’s meeting at the Police Sacco Grounds—where tickets ranged from Ksh1,500 for terraces to Ksh3,000 for VVIP, sparking criticism at the time.
Despite having secured the title, Police FC is determined to finish the season on a strong note. Head coach Etienne Ndayiragije lauded his players for their resilience and gave credit to Gor Mahia for keeping the title race competitive.
“We worked very hard for this, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved. It was a tough campaign, and we thank Gor Mahia for pushing us all the way. They were worthy opponents. We hope to build on this success next season,” said Ndayiragije.
Police FC chairman Munga Nyale also underscored the importance of the final match, urging his players to uphold their winning spirit.
“Champions don’t lose. We have one last game, and we want to finish in style. On Sunday, we must play with pride and fight like wounded buffalos. I expect nothing less than a win,” Nyale stated.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
