PPG Paints Arena to Host Four NCAA Tournament Teams Over Labor Day Weekend.
PITTSBURGH — Tickets go on sale Wednesday morning for the second annual State Farm Women’s College Volleyball Showcase, set for Labor Day weekend at PPG Paints Arena. The event will feature powerhouse programs including the University of Pittsburgh Panthers and Penn State Nittany Lions, along with TCU and Arizona State.
The Panthers have reached the Final Four in each of the last four seasons, while Penn State enters as the reigning national champion. Both TCU and Arizona State also earned spots in last season’s NCAA Tournament. Collectively, these four teams won 120 matches last year.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
Sunday, August 31 at 2 p.m.: Pitt vs. TCU
Sunday, August 31 at 5 p.m.: Penn State vs. Arizona State
Monday, September 1 at 5 p.m.: Penn State vs. TCU
Monday, September 1 at 7:30 p.m.: Pitt vs. Arizona State
Tickets start at $20 and grant admission to both matches on the selected day. Fans wanting to attend both days must purchase separate tickets for Sunday and Monday.
Last year, the event took place in Milwaukee and featured top programs Wisconsin, Texas, Stanford, and Minnesota. This year’s showcase promises high-level competition and exciting volleyball action in Pittsburgh.
