Al Jardine, original member of The Beach Boys, has announced a six-date Australian tour with his band, The Pet Sounds Band. Fans can now buy band tickets to see Jardine perform classic Beach Boys hits along with deep cuts from the band’s extensive catalogue.
Backed by The Pet Sounds Band, including Music Director Darian Sahanaja of The Wondermints, Jardine and his group will bring the timeless sound of The Beach Boys to venues across Australia this October and November.
“I’ve been gathering up the troops — Brian’s excellent band,” Jardine said. “We’re all just dying to get back to work, and we’re going to have some fun.”
The tour kicks off at Wrest Point Casino in Hobart on Thursday, October 23. It then moves to Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide on Saturday, October 25; QPAC in Brisbane on Tuesday, October 28; Hamer Hall in Melbourne on Wednesday, October 29; Sydney Opera House on Friday, October 31; and wraps up at Regal Theatre in Perth on Sunday, November 2.
Tickets for all shows will be available starting Thursday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. local time through the David Roy Williams website.
Al Jardine first met Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson along with Mike Love in 1961, forming The Beach Boys. As a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, Jardine is well known for leading vocals on the band’s number-one hit, “Help Me, Rhonda.”
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2001, Jardine continues to tour worldwide to keep The Beach Boys’ music alive.
Concertgoers can look forward to hearing hits such as “I Get Around,” “Fun Fun Fun,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Good Vibrations,” and “Kokomo” when Al Jardine and The Pet Sounds Band take the stage later this year.
