ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) has teamed up with B103 Rockford to encourage blood donations by giving donors the chance to win tickets to upcoming concerts in the area.
The blood drive runs from May 27 to May 31 at all RRVBC locations and mobile blood drives. Donation centers include:
- Downtown Donor Center, 418 N. Longwood St., Rockford
- Perryville Donor Center, 3065 Perryville Rd., Rockford
- Freeport Donor Center, 461 E. South St., Freeport
Each person who donates blood during this week will be entered into a drawing. Winners will receive two tickets to a concert of their choice from the following events:
- Old Settlers Days, June 12–15 in Rockton
- Dave Matthews Band, June 27 at Northerly Island, Chicago
- Rod Stewart with Cheap Trick, August 8 in Tinley Park
- The Offspring with Jimmy Eat World, August 16 in Tinley Park
- The Lumineers, August 30 at Soldier Field, Chicago
- Vitamin String Quartet: Music of Taylor Swift, Bridgerton & Beyond, October 22 at the Coronado Theatre
Maggie Anderson, Marketing and Recruitment Specialist at RRVBC, emphasized the importance of donations. “With less than 2 percent of eligible donors in our region giving blood, our community continues to face shortages,” she said. “This blood drive is our way of thanking those who step up to donate and giving them a chance to enjoy a little summer fun in the process.”
Winners will be notified during the week of June 3.
